چکیده

Moving window concepts are used in temporal query languages for aggregate functions over the dimension ‘time’. In the medical domain, aggregation of patient data over time windows builds a powerful mechanism within clinical database queries to satisfy a class of typical medical question formulations. In opposite to other fields, like the business domain for example, there is the additional need to synchronize time windows with the individual course of diseases rather than with the calendar system only. In this paper we present several variants of shifting time windows over patient histories and suggest a set of essential options for a moving window clause. The proposed parameters for window creation as well as suitable default settings are discussed in the context of retrieving data from medical records.

Aggregates in the temporal query language TQuel - Knowledge and Data Engineering, IEEE Transactions on

This paper defines new constructs to support aggregation in the temporal query language TQuel and presents their formal semantics in the tuple relational calculus. A formal semantics for Que1 aggregates is defined in the process. Multiple aggregates; aggregates appearing in the where, when, and valid clauses; nested aggregation; and instantaneous, cumulative, moving window, and unique variants ...

Incremental Computation of Common Windowed Holistic Aggregates

Windowed aggregates are a SQL 2003 feature for computing aggregates in moving windows. Common examples include cumulative sums, local maxima and moving quantiles. With the advent over the last few years of easy-to-use data analytics tools, these functions are becoming widely used by more and more analysts, but some aggregates (such as local maxima) are much easier to compute than others (such a...

Prime Incision and Modified Moving Window: A Minimally Invasive Access for Breast Cancer Surgical Treatment

BACKGROUND Conservative surgical treatment has been the treatment of choice for early breast cancer. It allows feasible oncological treatment with a satisfactory cosmetic approach and fast recovery. However, in some cases mastectomy is necessary. This study proposes a surgical approach with only one surgical access through the same incision, which is in line with precepts mentioned abov...

Online Reputation Model Using Moving Window

Users are increasingly dependent on decision tools to facilitate their transactions on the internet. Reputation models offer a solution to the users in supporting their purchase decisions. The reputation model takes product ratings as input and produces product quality as score. Most existing reputation models use naïve average method or weighted average method to aggregate ratings. Naïve avera...

Spectral-element Discontinuous Galerkin (sedg) Simulations with a Moving Window Algorithm for Wakefield Calculations

We developed a moving window algorithm for wakefield calculations for our SEDG time-domain electromagnetic code NekCEM. When the domain of interest is around a moving bunch within a certain distance, one does not need to carry out full domain simulations. The moving window approach is a natural choice for reducing the computational cost of the conventional low-order methods such as the finite-d...
